    Snowbird Restaurants

Once you’ve traveled the eight miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon−the canyon that’s home to Snowbird and Alta−for your ski vacation you’re probably not leaving for a couple days. Snowbird Resort knows they generally have ski vacationers for a couple days, so they made sure there are plenty of dining options to keep everyone well-fed and happy. Snowbird restaurants range from traditional Italian to Mexican to sushi, pizza and renowned breakfast joints. While there aren’t an overabundance of restaurants in this micro-community, the ones that are there are sure to satisfy every taste.

Mexican-lovers can head to El Chanate in the bottom level of The Cliff Lodge. The margaritas are tasty, the guacamole fresh, there are tons of veggie options and lots of traditional favorites. El Chanate is not just a good spot for an après drink or meal; it’s also an affordable option for those on a budget. A reservation at The Aerie, the restaurant on the top floor of The Cliff Lodge is absolute must. This restaurant is always busy thanks to its varied and high quality menu and incredible view of the resort mountain. For Snowbird’s finest dining experience, a meal at Shallow Shaft Restaurant is absolute must. Foodies will be delighted with the Shallow Shaft’s quality, service and wine list.

If you’re looking for a hearty, pre-ski breakfast, the Forklift off the Tram patio area, is a fabulous options. Portions are huge, which can be great if you’re looking to fuel up before a long day on the slopes, or you can opt to share. The thick cut oatmeal brulee is absolutely out of this world, and the whole wheat pancakes, huevos rancheros and Italian benedict are also don’t miss items. For a quick bite, head to Tram Car Pizza in the lower level of the Snowbird Centers. You’ll find Tram Car is a locals favorite.

    Snowbird On Mountain Restaurants

While there are only two Snowbird on-mountain restaurants  both provide great mid-day snack and lunch options to keep your energy levels up all day so you can take advantage of Snowbird’s famed terrain. Mid-Gad Restaurant is a popular lunch spot, located at the top of Mid-Gad Chairlift. Lunch-goers can choose from a large variety of burgers (including veggie burgers), sandwiches, wraps, soups and assorted snacks. Mid-Gad is also a popular spot for a patio beer on sunny afternoons.

At the bottom of Mid-Gad Chairlift you’ll find Creekside Café, which is a great place to grab breakfast or lunch. There’s an extensive espresso and coffee menu, as well as a hearty breakfast menu and small, but good lunch menu, which includes wagyu beef hot dogs, large, fresh pretzels and chili.
